Gouache Paintings, 2021 (above)
Inspired by the idea you are what you eat, I created paintings that combined my silhouette with food I have eaten as part of my exploration of today's body standards.

Crowd Studies
Gouache and Digital Drawing
This collection was inspired by the realization that the energy of crowds was yet another experience lost in the pandemic. I felt a longing for the different crowds I had witnessed but many times ignored. In previous travel photos my main subject was often my family, or a tourist sight. Rather than imagine what was behind the main part of the composition I left it as negative space. I chose a digital brush that was rougher and harder to control to make the image less clear, much like my memory of the people I didn’t really see at the time.
